Glossary for Geospatial Science

MODIS: Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer that collects multispectral images aboard NASA’s Terra (EOS AM) and Aqua (EOS PM) satellites.  These satellites view the entire earth’s surface every 1 to 2 days with the ability to directly broadcast in real time its raw data to appropriately equipped ground stations.
