Glossary for Geospatial Science

genlock:  To synchronize two video signals (usually NTSC) to match the color video frames.  Genlocking is necessary to mix and combine two signals, like a live video image and a graphic overlay.  Some display boards can output an NTSC signal but cannot genlock, or mix, that signal with another video signal.
