Glossary for Geospatial Science

lateral connections:  HyperIndex connections between objects on the same hierarchical level.  The connections may be individually established by the user or automatically estimated.  HyperIndex displays a list of laterally connected objects when a user indicates a move in that direction with the arrow key.
