minute or ': “The sixtieth part of a degree of angular measurement, often represented by the sign ‘ as in 12° 30’, read 12 degrees, 30 minutes” (Random House). USGS quadrangle maps are common in both 15 and 7.5 minute sizes. For example, the 7.5 minute map for Crow Butte, Nebraska covers from 103° 15' to 103° 22' 30" west, and 42° 37' 30" to 42° 45' north.
