root window:  The main window of the X server in X desktop mode.  Each client process runs as a subwindow within the root window.  On Windows systems, you can choose to display the MicroImages X Server title bar if desired.  Besides identifying the MicroImages X Server, this title bar provides access to preferences, the overview window, the X server version number, and MicroImages’ technical support email address
