Glossary for Geospatial Science

symbol hot spot:  The place on a TNTmips symbol that controls its position.  TNTmips locates a symbol by putting its hot spot on the node that provides its coordinates.  Every symbol has a hot spot: it defaults to the center of the symbol design area, but may be relocated.  The hot spot is also called the origin.
