Glossary for Geospatial Science

symmetric minima:  A raster cell that has a value less than two opposite neighbors in any direction.  A raster object of symmetric minima is calculated from an elevation raster object and provides a representation of the relative roughness of terrain.  TNTmips includes symmetric minima and flats (see above) in the same output raster object.
